About Wight Locations

When it comes to holidays on the Isle of Wight, there’s no one better. We live, work, and play on the Island, giving us a wealth of knowledge on the area. Whether you’re looking for where to stay or what to do while here, we’ve got the lowdown on local festivals, the best places to pick up fresh fruit and veg, and the inside scoop on the best ice cream around!

Working alongside the wonderful holiday cottage specialists at Classic Cottages, we’ve crafted a delightfully diverse catalogue of cottages across the Isle of Wight, from the botanical charms of Ventnor to the coastal wiles of Cowes. We understand how important it is to choose the right place when looking to go away, so we hand-select each of our properties to ensure they are of the highest standards.

It doesn’t stop at exceptional places to stay either, as our friendly team is here to help you every step along the way, whether you’re looking for advice on the best vegan cafés or ferry times.

About the Isle of Wight

Boasting a royal seal of approval from Queen Victoria herself, the Isle of Wight has been a popular holiday destination for a very long time.

History lovers will adore the many forts, castles, and historic houses that can be found across the Island, including the famous Osborne House, where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert shared many treasured memories.

What better way to unwind than to get out into the fresh air and explore? Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll or something more energetic, you can discover historic farms, pretty lanes, thatched villages, coastal trails and woodlands - there’s even a walking festival! It's easy to find your way around, with over 500 miles of carefully maintained footpaths and signposts to follow.

Walking, cycling, and bird watching are popular all year round on the Isle of Wight, while the summer months see people making the most of the sun-soaked beaches where swimming, paddle boarding, and windsurfing abound. The Island is also a place of simple but rewarding pleasures. What better way to relax and draw breath than to head off rock pooling, build sandcastles, and sit by the water’s edge with an ice cream in hand?

With such a bountiful natural larder, the Isle of Wight is famed for its fabulous foods, from home-grown tomatoes to such an array of garlic that an entire festival is necessary. Settle down in a cosy restaurant with a stunning sea view, stop by a friendly café for a piece of homemade cake, or sink into the local pub for a post-walk tipple that’s worth the hike - sorry, hype!

With the Island only 23 miles by 13, nothing is far away and we are a short and sweet boat crossing from Portsmouth, Southampton or Lymington in the New Forest, by Hovercraft from Southsea, or by High-Speed Cat from Portsmouth Harbour railway station and Southampton.

Excited to explore the Isle of Wight during your next stay? We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Island.
