Another gem of a location is Gurnard, just along the coast from Cowes. Gurnard Bay is a traditional promenade with privately owned wooden beach huts and a large grassy area to sit or play. There is also a fenced children's play ground and the beach offering a mixture of sand and shingle with rocks at low tide.

For eating, you will find a beach front cafe as well as a pub overlooking the water. There is also the renowned Little Gloster Restaurant, popular with locals and visitors alike. The village has a very good local grocery store selling everything from fresh daily bread and milk to wine, so you are well catered for on all fronts.
