Monday the 1st of January

This free event takes place in Sandown and boasts a spectacular firework display at the end of the pier on New Year's Day. Take your place early along Sandown Esplanade for the best seat in the house, with the epic display starting at 6pm (roads close an hour prior).

 

Thompson's, Newport

Welcome 2024 in Ventnor on New Year’s Eve at this fabulous streamed New Year’s Eve concert. Chief conductor Kirill Petrenko conducts the first act of the opera Walkure at the Berliner Philharmoniker, broadcast live to Ventnor Arts Club, giving you the chance to ring in the New Year in true musical style.

Not for the faint hearted, hardy swimmers take to the sea at midday as part of a fundraiser for Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat Station - what better way to start the New Year off than with a refreshing sea swim. Warm up afterwards in the hotel with a hot toddy or head onto the coast for a blood-pumping stomp.
