Just outside of Newport in the direction of the lovely Calbourne Water Mill is the Blacksmith's Arms.
Over 400 years old, the original pub is flagstones in the entrance, open fires and oak beams opens out to a modern extension at the back which is light and airy and offers amazing panoramic views over the countryside towards Newtown Creek, Thorness Bay and Gurnard.
There is a spacious beer garden out back with safe play area for the kids.
The pub is a family run Freehouse so able to offer a varied selection real ales and beers and numerous wines from around the world to suit every palate.
The menu is extensive and home cooked with seafood being a speciality. The Sunday roasts are reputed to be the best on the Island accompanied by a large variety of fresh veg, but you will need to book!
