Bembridge Lifeboat Station
Penned on the 21st July 2015
There's a really lovely walk around the coastal point in Bembridge. If you park at the The Harbour View Cafe, at low tide, on the outskirts of the village, and step onto the beach you can explore the dunes as you wander around the point onto the vast expanse of sand on Bembridge Beach.
Follow the shoreline around and enjoy the immense views and peaceful surroundings as you head towards the Lifeboat. The Lifeboat Station was given a major overhaul a few years ago and it now sits centre stage, impressive in it's design, at the heart of the village.
If you are lucky you may see the Lifeboat launch, or if not make sure you pop along the shop which is open daily. You can also have a tour of the station during school holidays.
Continuing your stroll past the Lifeboat station you can head towards Bembridge Ledge, a favourite for the locals. If you fancy a break at this stage you could always stop for a breather at the Crab & Lobster Pub or The Beach Hut. Both serve locally sourced fresh seafood and are family and dog friendly.
