Here at our little office in Seaview we're very excited about the changes and were thrilled to have been welcomed into a much larger family. For those of you that know us and frequently pop into the office for a chat whilst you're in the area, don't worry we’re not going anywhere! Our friendly team will be here for you as always!

Classic cottages is a family owned business established in 1977 in the village of Helston, where the head office remains today. In addition to now offering cottages on the Isle of Wight, classic have over 1000 cottages covering Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and recently Hampshire.

A couple of us from the island office were lucky enough to be invited to meet the teams in Helston at the beginning of February and see the area for ourselves and understand more about the area which is hugely popular with visitors year round.

I've always had a love of Cornwall and spend at least 2 long weekends a year at one of the many coastal Spots popular with families and middle aged part time wannabe surfers like myself, so I was very happy to take a look at an area I've never explored before. Helston, also know by the locals as ‘Hellys’ is located on the Lizard Peninsula, and is the southernmost town in the British mainland.

Whilst in Helston for a few days we also visited a fantastic country pub, (The Tregilly Wartha Inn) in a very tucked away location, near the village of Constantine - can recommend the jerk chicken! The nearby harbour town of Porthlevan, is a picture postcard fishing village with a fantastic collection of restaurants and cafes along the harbour including Rick steins. The dramatic harbour entrance leads down onto the beach, with miles of unspoilt white sand.

So now we're part of this larger family, you'll be hearing lots more from us about the other areas you can explore if you feel like a change from the Isle of Wight. Of course we'd rather you keep coming back to see us...
